Strengthening our immune system is so important right now. Doing what we can to help our bodies fight whatever comes our way.
We’ve created 2 products, our Immune Support Blend and Immunity Tea, that can help do this, through ingredients such as a Kakadu Plum, Kaffir Lime, Astragalus Root, Elderflower + much more.
Below we’ve shared some ingredients we’ve used and why.
Kakadu Plum has the highest recorded natural amount of Vitamin C of any food in the world. Used typically in Indigenous Medicine. Vitamin C not only helps strengthen our immune systems, but it’s also necessary for the growth, development and repair of all body tissues. It’s involved in many body functions, including formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.
The antioxidant and antibacterial properties of Kaffir Lime make it a powerful herb at boosting the immune system. There is good research evidence supporting the use of the whole Pomegranate as antibacterial and antiviral agent helping to fight off and protect against pathogens within the body.
Bilberries are filled with antioxidants that support and improve the overall immune system by promoting antioxidant defence and lowering oxidative stress. The Vitamin C content in a bilberry is five times higher than in an orange.
Green Banana Powder is a great prebiotic and the world’s highest quality, resistant starch. Prebiotics feed probiotics (good gut bacteria) and therefore help to keep the digestive tract healthy and happy. Slippery Elm is high in natural fibre commonly used to soothe heartburn and mild stomach discomfort. Bacillus Coagulans is an incredibly powerful and natural probiotic. Probiotics instantly contribute to your good bacteria numbers and can therefore have an immediate effect on the efficiency of your gut to work right.
These ingredients are all within our Immune Support Blend.
We’ve also created an Immune Boosting Tea.
Our Immunity Tea contains Astragalus Membranaceus (Astragalus Root), Sambucus Nigra (Elderflower), Cymbopogon Citratus (Lemongrass), Zingiber Officinale (Ginger), Uncaria Tomentosa (Cat Claw Bark), Handroanthus Impetiginosus (Pau D’arco).
Astragalus Root has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. It was often combined with other herbs to strengthen the body against disease. Astragaus is called an adaptogen, meaning it helps protect the body against various stresses, including physical, mental, or emotional stress. Astragalus is used to protect and support the immune system, preventing colds and upper respiratory infections, lowering blood pressure, treating diabetes, and protecting the liver.
Elderflower is packed with bioflavonoids that has been used throughout the world in traditional medicine. They are also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-cancer and an antioxidant. This herb will help boost your immune system and research has shown that it can also be effective in killing common pathogens.
Lemongrass is a natural antioxidant and has great antimicrobial properties.
Ginger is antibacterial, and anti-parasitic in nature. In several Ayurvedic medicines, ginger has been used as an active ingredient and this is due to the presence of Gingerol, an active component that makes ginger a perfect immunity booster.
Cat’s claw is a woody vine that grows wild in the Amazon rainforest and other tropical areas of Central and South America. This powerful herb is not only antiviral — it also has anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic and antioxidant properties. These health-promoting attributes may make cat’s claw helpful as a natural treatment for arthritis, allergies, asthma, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, cancer, viral infections, ulcers, hemorrhoids and more.
Pau D’arco is also grown in the Amazon, and is is rich in certain compounds such as flavonoids, benzenoids, minerals, and antioxidants. Indigenous communities have been using it for its antimicrobial properties for hundreds of years.
